Hightlights ffrom the latest National Construction Pipeline Report 2018. Over the past 6 years Pacifecon has worked in association with MBIE and BRANZ to produce the report released in July.

The latest report provides a projection of national building and construction activity to end 2023, including national and regional breakdowns of actual and forecast residential and non-residential building, plus infrastructure activity.  The five most significant findings in the report are:

Sustained growth is forecast for building and construction nationally

National dwelling consents expected to exceed historic highs with 43,000 in 2023

Multi-unit dwellings overtake detached house consents in Auckland

Non-residential building growth expected for Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty

Wellington experienced the strongest total construction growth in 2017
