Fieldays contends for event top spot

New Zealand National Fieldays Society’s cornerstone event Fieldays has been announced as a finalist for Best National Event and Best Business Event in the 2018 New Zealand Event Awards.

These awards are organised by the New Zealand Events Association and judged by an independent panel with a wealth of event experience across a range of business sectors. They recognise events that have demonstrated a strong vision, clear objectives, innovation and those that leave a legacy in their wake.

Society CEO Peter Nation speaks of the event’s success being powered by the people behind it, saying “Fieldays is made possible by the effort of our hard-working volunteers, members and staff and the support of our valued exhibitors, partners and stakeholders.”

“We are extremely proud of our event and the important role it plays in the nation’s primary industries and for our event to make the finals of these awards is a real tribute to the team for their efforts. Becoming a finalist of these two event awards sets us well towards our vision of creating leading events for our world,” says Nation.

The Society is up against some tough competition with Best Business Event finalists including NZTE, Type 40 Events, Conference Innovators and Tourism Industry Aotearoa and Best National Event finalists including AIMS Games, Wellington Culinary Events, Homegrown Events, The Grape Run and Warbirds over Wanaka.

All category winners will be announced at the NZEA Event Awards function on 26 March 2019 with finalists also getting the chance of winning the title of New Zealand’s Favourite Event of 2018 as voted by the public in February 2019.
